Eglin Outdoor Rec - The Soundside Outdoor Recreation Center is located across from the main gate of Hurlburt Field, near the Soundside residential area. Outdoor recreation oversees a variety of activities, including: Marina, FAMCamp, Rifle and Pistol Club, Dive Shop, Aquatic Center, Picnic Area, Lil' Commando Community Park Pavilion, Beach Shrine, RV Conservation Area, Tours and specialty classes.

For your convenience we also have a complete list of rentals. Our rentals include, camping equipment, one and two person kayaks, canoes, hobby cat sailboats, motorized watercraft, water sports equipment, grills, trailers and A-frame campers. Please see our brochure for a full list of articles. A $50.00 fee is required to sell our boat. There is a 72 hour cancellation fee.

Eglin Outdoor Rec

A NASBLA-certified boating safety course is required for all motorboats. This request is a two-part series. The first part must be completed online at www.boatus.org. You must take a public boating course. Then take the test after the information course; print a copy of the certificate showing that you have passed the course. You must then present the certificate to the ODR staff, every day during business hours. For your convenience, our cards are also accepted at Eglin and Destin Army Rec. The service is free to all DoD ID card holders and no appointment is required.
